How we handle your personal data

Burgas Taxi Transfer EOOD takes the protection of personal data seriously and collects and processes it only in accordance with local and European law. This privacy policy explains how we process your data, what personal information we may collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what rights you have.

What personal data do we process?

We may collect personal data when you use our website or select and pay for our services. In most cases, we need this information to enter into a contract, meet a legal obligation or protect our legitimate interests. For some services, you choose to provide information about yourself and consent to sending it to us. Without these details, we cannot make a booking or provide a quote. Without identification details, we cannot enter into a car hire agreement with you.

Depending on the services you use, we may collect and process the following information:

General identification details:

Personal data you provide about other people
You may add someone as an additional driver or make a booking on behalf of another person, such as a friend, family member or colleague. In these cases, you are responsible for ensuring that the person knows their data is being provided to us and is familiar with our privacy policy.

Personal data received from other companies
We may also receive information about you from the business partners through whom you made your booking. For example:
Online platforms for chauffeur-driven car hire through which you booked may provide your booking details so that we can complete the agreement and supply the vehicle.

IP address

We collect your IP address when you visit our website. This identifies only your internet service provider (ISP) and does not contain information about you as an individual. We use it to understand where traffic to our website comes from.

Why do we process your data?

Vehicle bookings
We use your personal data primarily to make and manage your booking, contact you if there is a problem with your request, and send an electronic booking confirmation.

Customer service
Our customer service team processes your data to help you make a booking and answer questions before, during or after your booking.

Customer feedback
We may use your contact details to send a short questionnaire asking for feedback on our services. This helps us understand and improve service quality and our business processes.

Protecting legal interests
In some cases, we may need to use your personal data to defend or resolve legal disputes, respond to regulatory inspections, appeal fines or decisions of the Road Safety Agency, submit insurance claims or deal with similar matters.

What is the legal basis for processing your data?

We most commonly collect and process personal data for the following purposes and on the following legal bases:

Processing necessary to enter into or perform a contract
Verifying the customer’s identity; booking a specific vehicle; preparing quotes, agreements and related contractual documents; managing and fulfilling orders; preparing accounting documents, such as invoices or receipts for services used; and sending notices relating to our products and services.

Processing necessary to meet a legal obligation
Meeting obligations under the Road Traffic Act, the Accountancy Act, the Tax and Social Insurance Procedure Code and related legislation for proper and lawful accounting; providing information to state commissions and regulatory bodies; and providing information to courts and law enforcement authorities.

Who do we share your information with?

Burgas Taxi Transfer EOOD uses third parties to assist with certain contractual activities or legal obligations. We do not provide your personal data to them until we have ensured that appropriate technical and organisational safeguards are in place, and we aim to maintain strict control over its protection.

Recipients may include insurers, intermediaries through whom you booked, external consultants and specialists, debt collection agencies, law firms, banks, security companies and commercial agents. Data is shared only for a valid reason and under a written agreement requiring the recipient to provide an adequate level of protection.

In some cases, we must provide personal data to meet legal requirements. Recipients may include regulatory bodies, state commissions, institutions and agencies, the National Revenue Agency, the National Social Security Institute, courts, prosecutors and other bodies entitled to receive this data under applicable law.

We may share information with payment service providers and other financial institutions involved in payments or payment guarantees. If you, or the holder of the card used to make the booking, request invoicing, we may need to share certain booking details with the payment provider and financial institution. This may include a copy of the booking confirmation or the IP address used to make the booking. We may also exchange information with relevant financial institutions when necessary to detect or prevent fraud.

Automated algorithms
We do not use automated decision-making tools.

When do we delete your personal data?

We retain the information collected about you and destroy it within the statutory time limits. Where no statutory period applies, we use our own retention periods and delete the data after all financial matters between us have been settled. We do not keep your data indefinitely.
